Lama Samten & Sue at Keepers Pond, Abergavenny

In all my teaching and practice I have great gratitude to my precious teachers amongst whom is The Venerable Lama Karma Samten who visits us here in Monmouth every couple of years. My other root teacher is Lama Rinchen Palmo who is the director of the Dharma Centre in Brussels, she guided me through a year of retreat on Holy Isle. My first meditation teacher was Choje Akong Rinpoche whose pragmatic common sense inspired me to delve deeper into meditation. His brother, Lama Yeshe Rinpoche remains a guide and mentor as well as supporting me through the year I spent in retreat on Holy Isle 1999/2000.

I have been practicing and teaching mindfulness, T’ai-Chi and Qigong for many years. I hold a PG Diploma in Mindfulness Studies from Aberdeen University and Samyé College.  Formerly a dancer, choreographer and movement teacher I have worked nationally and internationally in film, TV and theatre. I was awarded an honorary doctorate in 2006 for my work over years in Sri Lanka supporting humanitarian causes.  I am the initiator of Relaxing The Mind activities providing T’ai-Chi, Qigong and meditation classes, courses and retreats in Monmouth, Abergavenny, Pontypool, Isle of Many, Dublin and on Holy Isle, Scotland.
